Job summary

Silgan Dispensing seeks an EHS Specialist to partner with site management to ensure all products and programs comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Emphasis on data collection, reporting, incident investigation, and training to promote a safe, compliant workplace.

You will maintain EHS records, support regulatory information systems, coordinate audits, and assist with KPI analysis and cross‑functional training.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in life science, safety, environmental or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for EHS teams, including filing, reporting, and database maintenance.
  • Communicate with internal and external teams to gather information and updates.
  • Responsible for all state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of EHS regulatory information systems.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participate in inspections, assessments, and surveys to identify potential hazards.
  • Assist in investigating accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents, completing necessary reports.
  • Maintain EHS records and files, including safety reports, permits, and audits.
  • Collect and analyze data related to EHS performance metrics.
  • Assist with developing and delivering EHS training programs.
  • Assist in overseeing all environmental health and safety programs of the facility.
  • Data entry and interpretations of various KPIs and processes of the facility.
  • Regular attendance required. Mandatory overtime may be required in special circumstances.
  • Adhere to company safety requirements.
  • Assumes all other duties as requested.

OBJECTIVE:

EHS Specialist works with site management, to ensure new products and programs are compliant with internal policies and procedures and promoting Environmental Health and Safety.

NA Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of an associate’s degree in life science, safety, environmental or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet established timelines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Frequently exposed to loud noises, odors, fumes, and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Vision ability includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work alternate shifts and days of the week including weekends as needed by the business.
  • Ability to travel occasionally by air or car to attend business meetings and conduct audits.
