Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for construction projects. WT provides construction management services to numerous clients across the United States, requiring the EH&S Engineer to have a broad range of technical and managerial expertise on site.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in an Environmental Health and Safety Related field and a Recognized Safety Professional Certification (BCSP - GSP/ASP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental Health and Safety related field.
• Recognized Safety Professional Certification (BCSP example: GSP/ASP).

Responsibilities

• Perform regular job site inspections to identify, document and mitigate hazardous conditions and verify corrective actions.
• Support incidents investigations including interviews, data collection, photos and proper documentation.
• Evaluate planning/permits such as Hot Work, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Excavation, Steel Erection, Energized Work, Pre-cast Tilt-Up for effective mitigation.
• Apply Industrial Hygiene principles in hearing conservation, lasers, silica, asbestos, lead exposure, etc.
• Demonstrate understanding of fire protection and storage/management of flammable materials.
• Maintain working knowledge of OSHA regulations and apply to field operations.

Seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer for construction projects.

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company (WT) provides construction management services to numerous clients in a multitude of business sectors, throughout the United States. WT Business Offices have delivered successful construction projects in healthcare, higher education, laboratories, business offices, manufacturing, retail development, food processing and warehouse development. Construction activities are unlimited and require the EH&S Engineer to have a broad range of technical and managerial expertise.

Minimum candidate Accreditations

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Environmental Health and Safety Related field
• Recognized Safety Professional Certification (examples)
  • BCSP (GSP or ASP)

• The preceding experience and capabilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. Working Conditions

• Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings requiring sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
• Work hours will be determined at the Project or work assignment basis.
• Noise level varies based on location.
• Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to, steel toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
