Job description

At Stoke, we believe a thriving space economy will enable a vibrant, sustainable, and equitable future here on Earth. That is why we’re building Nova, our fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle. Designed for daily flight, Nova tackles the core challenges of space transportation by reducing cost, increasing availability, and improving reliability. By radically lowering launch costs and increasing flight cadence, we’re helping create a truly scalable space industry.

Our team is mission‑driven, collaborative, and empowered to take ownership of their work. If you want to work alongside some of the most dedicated and talented people on Earth, we’d love to have you join us.

Reusable systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. A key ingredient to making the construction of such reusable systems feasible and efficient is a set of high‑quality and well‑prepared safety programs and standards that keep our employees safe each day. As the EHS Specialist, you are the first face of EHS support. You are test stand‑based and customer obsessed. You identify, manage, and execute proactive safety projects, EHS requests, and corrective actions. You will also work to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs that align with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and the operating system of Stoke. Additionally, the EHS Specialist will provide ongoing safety training and education for employees, fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the Moses Lake Test Site.

Collaboration and communication are key in this role. You will work directly with the technician and engineering teams to guide and facilitate continuous improvement activities that increase safety without impacting quality or efficiency. You will also work to integrate safe practices into daily operations and promote a proactive approach to daily risk management. This role requires excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking, allowing you to seamlessly integrate with our teams as you will be the key point of contact for all safety‑related matters. The successful candidate will be highly organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once, and be committed to driving a positive safety culture.
