At ZIEHL-ABEGG, safety is more than compliance, it is a core part of how we operate. We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support and continuously improve our health, safety, and environmental programs within our manufacturing environment.
This is a hands‑on role for an EHS professional who enjoys working directly with employees and leaders, being present on the production floor, identifying opportunities to reduce risk, and helping build a strong culture of safety.
The EHS Coordinator will support OSHA compliance, safety training, inspections, incident investigations, corrective actions, and other EHS initiatives. In the absence of the EHS Manager, this position will serve as a key backup resource for site EHS activities.
What You'll Do
Safety & Compliance
- Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
- Ensure site practices remain compliant with OSHA and applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Follow and help maintain company health and safety policies, procedures, and manuals.
- Prepare, maintain, and update required safety plans, records, and reports.
- Maintain safety boards and other safety communications throughout the facility.
- Coordinate facility safety inspections, including scheduling, tracking, reporting, and follow‑up.
- Conduct periodic Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program audits and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Support fire safety activities, including fire extinguisher inspections and training.
Training & Employee Engagement
- Provide safety training to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Assist with new hire safety orientation and conduct thorough new hire safety walkthroughs.
- Lead or facilitate annual and recurring safety training as required.
- Support training related to Forklift Safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), General Safety, and other applicable topics.
- Monitor employee safety training requirements and ensure employees remain current on required training.
- Collect and analyze near‑miss reports, hazardous conditions, and safety observations.
- Maintain reporting related to safety observations and trends.
- Support accident and incident reporting, including follow‑up and interim corrective actions.
- Partner with HR and site leadership to ensure incidents are appropriately documented and addressed.
- Work with management to identify root causes and develop, implement, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Help ensure corrective actions are effective in preventing future injuries or illnesses.
Environmental, Health & Safety Support
- Maintain records and reports related to site health and safety activities.
- Support environmental procedures and compliance requirements.
- Assist with hazardous waste and other environmental programs as needed.
- Provide EHS support across shifts and be available to address safety concerns or incidents outside of normal working hours when necessary.
- Serve as a backup to the EHS Manager when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Education & Certifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
- OSHA 30 General Industry certification preferred.
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional) certification preferred, or actively working toward certification.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
- Experience providing safety training to employees at multiple levels of an organization.
- Experience with Forklift Safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and general manufacturing safety.
- Knowledge of environmental procedures and standards.
- Knowledge of hazardous waste requirements.
- Experience with safety inspections, incident reporting, corrective actions, and safety documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Schedule
This position is typically scheduled on day shift. However, flexibility to support other shifts may occasionally be required, including responding to safety concerns or incidents on off-shifts or weekends.
