Job summary

Walworth County is seeking an Environmental Health Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Health program. You will coordinate services countywide, supervise two Environmental Health Specialists, and guide planning, development, implementation and evaluation under the Health Officer.

The role emphasizes water quality monitoring, lab direction, human health hazards, lead poisoning prevention, and collaboration with staff and partners to improve community health

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health plus three years of progressive professional experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred to support advanced program management.
  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating environmental health activities.

Responsibilities

  • Act as program coordinator over assigned areas and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, staff training, and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, policies, and state environmental health statutes.
  • Develop partnerships and advance program quality and effectiveness.
  • Lead onboarding and supervision of staff and interns.
  • Prepare division budgets and assist in contracts oversight.
