Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington's School of Public Health-Bloomington is seeking a lab technician to join a multidisciplinary team in environmental health microbiology. You will maintain blow fly colonies, perform culture-based ARB/ARG analyses, design experiments, and analyze data to advance public health research.

The role involves fieldwork in Indiana and Mozambique and collaboration across microbiology, virology, engineering, and epidemiology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a colony of blow flies and conduct controlled feeding studies; perform culture-based analysis of ARB and ARGs.
• Lead laboratory and field studies and collaborate with students and postdocs.
• Design experiments, analyze data and contribute to peer‑reviewed publications.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and monitor supplies.
• Maintain regulatory paperwork and assist with disposal of waste as needed.
