Job summary

State of Florida—Florida Department of Health in St. Johns County seeks an OPS Environmental Health Specialist I in St. Augustine.

The role focuses on BMW, tattooing, and tanning facilities programs, performing inspections, handling complaints, and follow-ups, with data entry and recordkeeping in EH databases. A valid Florida driver's license is required, with ability to work outdoors and lift 50 pounds. Incumbents may be required to perform emergency duties and must meet English communication

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections (initial, routine, and follow-up) for BMW establishments.
• Review and/or investigate complaints related to BMW establishments.
• Complete follow-up for any complaints or investigations.
• Work with supervisor on plan reviews as necessary.
• Conduct inspections (initial, routine, and follow-up) for tattoo establishments.
• Review and/or investigate complaints related to tattoo establishments.
• Complete follow-up for any complaints or investigations.
• Conduct inspections (initial, routine, and follow-up) for tanning facilities.
• Review and/or investigate complaints related to tanning establishments.
• Complete follow-up for any complaints or investigations.
• Complete data entry and maintain records of inspections, investigations, and reports in EH databases.
