Job summary

Novelis in Lincolnshire, Illinois invites ambitious students to join our on-site summer 2027 Environmental, Health, and Safety Internship for about 12 weeks. The intern will support EHS processes, engage in safety activities, and gain hands-on experience under the EHS Leader guidance.

The role targets students pursuing a 4-year degree with an interest in occupational safety and manufacturing environments, emphasizing teamwork and effective communication across all organizational levels.

Position Overview

Novelis in Lincolnshire, Illinois has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2027 internship. The team is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in relevant work and gain hands on industry experience. The intern will report to the EHS Leader and will gain experience with environmental, health, and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with implementation and administration of all matters related to plant EHS and security processes.


• Responsible for an EHS-related project.


• Assist with employee engagement activities including Safety Committee and training.


• Prioritize and maintain EHS related documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Location Profile

The finishing mill in Lincolnshire Illinois is located 26 miles from Chicago and was established in 1966. The facility cold rolls aluminum to a desired gauges anneals to tempers levels and slits the rolled sheet to size. The facility which employees around 100 people produces mill finish coils for the building construction and transportation industries where its’ products are used for gutters siding soffits and facia.
