Job summary

EA Engineering, Science, and Technology, Inc., PBC seeks a Geologist or Environmental Engineer to join our Denver, Colorado office, supporting multidisciplinary environmental projects across Colorado and nationwide. You will lead field teams and contribute to site characterization, remediation, and monitoring efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in environmental investigations, remediation, or related consulting.
  • Experience leading field programs and supervising field personnel.
  • Strong field data collection, documentation, and QA skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for extended field assignments.
  • Able to pass background checks for military installations and secure facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead field teams in sampling soil, groundwater, and environmental media.
  • Oversee subcontractors, including drilling contractors.
  • Support remediation projects involving contaminated sites.
  • Act as task manager and coordinate project activities.
  • Document field activities and assist with data management.
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, regulators, and teams.

Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Geologist or Environmental Engineer to join our Denver, Colorado office. In this role, you will support a wide range of multidisciplinary environmental projects across Colorado and throughout the United States while advancing your professional career.

The successful candidate will contribute to environmental investigation, site characterization, remediation, and monitoring projects for commercial, state, and federal clients. This position combines hands‑on field leadership with technical project support and offers opportunities for increased responsibility and career growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead field teams in the collection and sampling of soil, groundwater, soil gas, and other environmental media.
  • Provide oversight and management of subcontractors, including drilling contractors.
  • Support remediation projects involving contaminated soil, groundwater, and hazardous waste sites.
  • Serve as a task manager on larger environmental projects and coordinate project activities.
  • Document field activities and assist with data management and interpretation.
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, regulatory documentation, and project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, clients, regulators, and project team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 4 or more of experience conducting environmental investigations, remediation, or related environmental consulting work.
  • Experience leading environmental field programs and supervising field personnel.
  • Strong field data collection, documentation, and quality assurance skills.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for extended field assignments and project rotations.
  • Ability to successfully pass background checks required for work on military installations and other secure facilities.

Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.

Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor training.
  • MSHA certification.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification.

Pay Range

$80—$115,000 USD

The EA pay range for this position is intended as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation or salary. Factors considered when making an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and compliance with federal and state laws.
