Job summary

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) offers a 10-week Fundraising & Development Internship in Washington, DC. The program runs May 28 through August 6, 2019, with 40 hours per week at $13.25 per hour. Interns will gain hands-on experience in donor research, fundraising operations and event support.

Ideal candidates are organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop nonprofit fundraising and management skills within a political environmental justice context. Start date is flexible if needed.

Qualifications

• Extremely organized and detail oriented; effective written and oral communicator; strong research, writing and editing skills.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, flexible environment; self-starter with a strong work ethic; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Identify and research prospective donors; write briefing documents for fundraisers prior to meetings, events and calls.
• Learn systems and technologies supporting fundraising (Salesforce, Civis Analytics, CVENT).
• Meet with donors by phone or in person to assess alignment with LCV’s mission.
• Understand LCV’s brand and how to market its mission to attract donors.
