Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Intern to contribute to environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, and compliance projects.

You will work with experienced scientists, geologists, and engineers on real deliverables across fieldwork, regulatory research, and documentation. Ideal candidates are pursuing Environmental Science, Geology, or Engineering and have a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Foundational knowledge of environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, or environmental engineering principles.
• Strong computer and technical documentation skills.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER is a plus.
• Prior environmental internship/field experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental field investigations and sampling programs (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, indoor air, soil vapor).
• Support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and due diligence activities.
• Assist with soil borings and groundwater monitoring installations.
• Collect water-level measurements and assist with elevation surveying and aquifer testing.
• Support remediation projects and monitoring of systems.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses for environmental systems.
• Review and interpret environmental and operational data.
• Prepare tables, figures, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Research regulatory requirements and assist with permitting tasks.
• Prepare or assist with drawings for designs developed by the intern.
