Job summary

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. seeks an Environmental Engineer in Tampa, FL to design water and wastewater infrastructure and produce technical deliverables. The role includes QA checks, permitting support, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Environmental or Civil Engineering or a Bachelor’s with 2+ years’ experience, plus proficiency in MS Word, Excel and GIS. Occasional travel and telecommuting are available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering (or related field) required or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience if using a Bachelor's degree; coursework/internships count.
• Experience in water/wastewater design and hydraulic analysis is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel; clear technical writing and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater infrastructure systems including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping.
• Develop deliverables: calculations, reports, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Perform QA reviews of calculations and drawings to ensure compliance.
• Support permitting efforts with regulatory agencies.
• Support construction: review shop drawings, RFIs, and site visits.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for analyses and design reviews.
• Conduct feasibility studies, master planning, and equipment evaluations.
• Up to 10% domestic travel; telecommuting up to 2 days/week.

Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineering in Tampa, FL.

Job Details

• Design projects for water and wastewater infrastructure systems, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping.
• Develop engineering deliverables, including detailed calculations, technical reports, schematics, and construction drawings.
• Conduct quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings to identify discrepancies, validate assumptions, and ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
• Support permitting efforts through various agencies.
• Support construction activities by reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to perform engineering analyses, interpret field data, and contribute to design reviews.
• Perform feasibility studies, master planning, and equipment evaluations.
• Up to 10% domestic travel required.
• Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as an Environmental Engineer, Civil Engineer, or in a related occupation.

Experience and skills can be gained in pursuit of a university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Position requires experience in the following:
