Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Environmental Engineer to support complex water infrastructure projects, including wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater efforts in the Bureau of Clean Water, Municipal Facilities Division. You will help implement programs, coordinate with agencies, and ensure data accuracy while supporting PENNVEST-funded initiatives.

Telework may be available, with travel to project sites required and a standard 8am-4pm

Qualifications

• Two years as Environmental Engineering Specialist or equivalent Commonwealth/Federal title.
• Four years of professional environmental engineering experience with a valid EIT certificate or PE licensure.
• Three years of professional environmental engineering experience with a PE license or 9 environmental engineering credits.
• Graduate study may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for wastewater, drinking water, stormwater, and non-point source projects.
• Assist with PENNVEST program work and BIL-funded project oversight.
• Offer technical guidance and training to applicants, staff, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate projects across regional and central offices and with external agencies.
• Maintain accurate project data and documentation of workflows and contacts.
