The Wastewater Engineer Construction Permitting role is an engineering position in the Indiana Department of Environmental Management's Office of Water Quality. The engineer reviews and approves construction permit applications for sanitary sewer projects, conducts technical plan reviews, performs inspections, and ensures compliance with state environmental standards. This role involves permit evaluation, on-site inspections, technical assistance to applicants, and potential enforcement and expert witness duties.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of experience in engineering and related fields
• License to practice engineering in the State of Indiana
• Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and sanitary engineering principles
• Ability to review plans and specifications for treatment and control systems
• Proficiency with Computer Assisted Design (CAD) programs and electronic documentation systems
• Strong communication and time management skills with ability to prepare technical reports
