Job summary

GHD in Midland, TX seeks an Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer or Geologist to join our Contamination Assessment & Remediation team. You will contribute to a range of environmental solutions on client sites, coordinating permitting, data analysis and reporting.

The role requires 3–8 years of environmental consulting experience; a Texas-based PE or NM PG is highly regarded. Travel to field sites is expected; you’ll operate in a safety‑driven, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design and implementation of environmental solutions for contamination assessment and remediation.

  • Perform data collection, reduction and interpretation; communicate findings through reports and proposals.
  • Support project management to achieve goals within schedule and budget.
  • Travel to field sites as required.

Who are we looking for?

Our Environmental business inMidland, TXis looking for anEnvironmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer or Geologistto join their team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the future of our Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through the coordination and implementation of a wide range of environmental solutions and projects. This role will be based inMidland, Texas.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Research, design, plan, and perform engineering duties in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards using various engineering disciplines. Work may include waste treatment, site remediation, or pollution control technology.

Responsibilities
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
  • Waste Management: Lead waste projects or supervise area of the organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and effective reduction, segregation, and disposal of waste.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
  • Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs.
  • Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication, evaluation, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
  • Research: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
  • Preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications
  • Coordinate and implement project permitting
  • Interpretation/evaluation of environmental regulations
  • Data compilation, reduction, and interpretation
  • Understanding of remediation, remediation methods, and operations and maintenance requirements
  • PE or PG in Texas or New Mexico will be highly regarded
  • 3-8 years of experience in environmental consulting including environmental permitting & compliance, remediation & design, site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation and project coordination
  • Experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
  • Strong working knowledge of NMOCD and NM SLO rules and regulations as it relates to assessment and remediation
  • Ability work in a fast-paced environment
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification a plus
  • Electrical systems and remediation system operation and maintenance
  • Ability and willingness to travel to undertake field work is required
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field
Experience
  • 13 months to 3 years
