Job summary

McClelland Consulting Engineers, Inc. (MCE), an ESP Company, is seeking a senior project-level Environmental Engineer or Geologist for Fayetteville or Little Rock, AR.

This role supports our environmental consulting team across Arkansas and surrounding states, leading projects, managing budgets, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory-driven compliance, due diligence, and site assessment, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG).
  • 5+ years of environmental project management experience, preferably as PE or PG.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel (overnight travel approx. 10%).
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Manage clients, projects, and budgets for both small and large sites.
  • Schedule, mentor, and train junior staff.
  • Prepare technical proposals and reports; ensure project profitability.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships and business opportunities.

McClelland Consulting Engineers (MCE), an ESP Company is currently seeking a senior project-level professional Environmental Engineer or Geologist in our Fayetteville, AR or Little Rock, AR locations. This position will enhance and support our company’s environmental consulting team throughout the state of Arkansas and surrounding states.

MCE is a regional, multidisciplined engineering consulting firm with more than 160 employees throughout four offices in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, and Rogers. We are focused on providing exceptional customer service by committing our time, energy and professionalism to complete projects that enhance the quality of life, improve infrastructure and offer positive economic impacts to improve the communities where we serve, live and work.

This is a project-oriented position, which will require a working knowledge of Arkansas and Federal environmental regulations/guidelines. In addition, this position will involve management of clients, projects, and budgets for both small and large complex sites, scheduling, mentoring, and training of junior staff, as well as technical proposal and report preparation. This position will also be responsible for project technical success and profitability as well as client development. Some periodic out-of-town overnight travel is anticipated for this position.

MCE’s environmental consulting team provides services to private, commercial, industrial, and governmental agency clients. Our team includes professional geologists and engineers, along with other staff and technicians trained and experienced in the regulatory-driven environment of compliance management.

The preferred candidate will have experience in due diligence, assessment, risk-based analysis, NEPA, Brownfields, USTs, vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation, and hazardous materials evaluations, among other environmental services. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related program of study
  • Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist
  • 5+ years of environmental project management experience, preferably as a PE or PG
  • Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to travel as needed (overnight travel estimated at 10%)
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD, and Excel
  • Expertise in field testing and sampling methodologies
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of walking various terrains, including inclines and declines
  • Bending, kneeling, twisting, auguring, and repetitive lifting of 20 lbs.
