Job summary

Industry-leading manufacturing company in Hampton Roads, VA is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join the EHS team on a full-time basis. You will manage environmental compliance programs at a major facility, working closely with operations to minimize risks and ensure regulatory adherence.

The role reports to the Site EHS Manager and focuses on day-to-day oversight of air, wastewater, and waste programs, with emphasis on data collection, audits, and staff training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, or related field.
• 4–6 years of environmental compliance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience working directly within a manufacturing plant.
• Familiarity with air compliance is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of RCRA, NPDES, and TRI reporting is a plus.

• Ensure day-to-day facility compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Collect, track, and verify regulatory data.
• Oversee air, waste, and wastewater permit systems.

eYou will manage, maintain, and improve environmental compliance programs at a major manufacturing facility. This role involves day-to-day regulatory oversight, data tracking, and close teamwork with operational staff to minimize environmental risks

.Key Responsibilitie

• sManage day-to-day facility compliance with local, state, and federal laws
• .Collect, track, and verify engineering data for regulatory agencies
• .Oversee site permit systems for air, waste, and wastewater
• .Lead facility environmental audits and regular site inspections
• .Partner with production teams to resolve compliance gaps quickly
• .Train manufacturing personnel on environmental policies and goals

.Qualification

• sEducation: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, or related field
• .Experience: Minimum 4 to 6 years of environmental compliance experience
• .Setting: Prior experience working directly within a manufacturing plant
• .Air Programs: Familiarity with Air compliance is highly preferred
• .Waste Programs: Knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste management is a plus
• .Water Programs: Experience with NPDES water discharge regulations is a plus
• .Reporting: Experience managing TRI (Form R) reporting is a plus
