JOB TITLE: Environmental & Energy Associate (Utilities)

LOCATION: Austin, TX

POSITION SUMMARY:

Spencer Fane is looking for a senior-level Associate to join our Environmental practice group in our Austin, TX office specifically focusing on utility regulatory practice. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of environmental or utility regulatory practice law experience. This position will involve significant focus on state regulatory work, administrative law, and natural resources law. Experience practicing at the following Texas agencies include the Public Utilities Commission of Texas, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the Texas Railroad Commission. Experience with administrative litigation at the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings is a plus.

The below qualifications are required:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
  • Admission to the Texas bar
  • Ability to interface directly with clients
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills
