Lynker Corporation is seeking an Environmental Data Scientist to join our team in Colorado. The role focuses on organizing diverse environmental and geospatial datasets, defining data schemas, and applying hydrology and environmental reasoning to develop explainable data rules.

The position emphasizes collaboration across science, engineering, and platform teams, with a strong focus on documentation, validation, and open writing. Colorado Front Range in-person work is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's in environmental or related field or equivalent hands-on experience in environmental data science.
• Ability to reason about environmental evidence and how to represent and combine it.
• Proficiency in R or Python for wrangling, analysis, and modeling.
• Experience with geospatial data science and GIS tools.
• Ability to translate domain logic into testable rules and schemas.
• Strong scientific writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize, catalog, and structure environmental datasets with provenance.
• Define rules and analytical logic with traceable lineage for results.
• Design data schemas and data products, tracking evolution over time.
• Apply environmental domain knowledge to weighting and interpretation of data.
• Develop validation checks and QA to ensure explainable results.
• Document schemas, logic, and data sources; collaborate across teams.
