HB NEXT is seeking a full-time Environmental Consultant / NPDES Inspector in Charlotte, NC. This field-based role focuses on stormwater inspections, documentation, and regulatory compliance with flexible hours for outdoor work and travel to sites across the region.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated with strong communication skills, hold relevant erosion certifications, and can obtain additional credentials within 60 days if needed. HB NEXT offers training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• National or NC erosion certification required or equivalent.
• Charlotte-Mecklenburg certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• Prior construction or field inspection experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct stormwater and NPDES inspections on construction sites

Requirements:

• National or NC Erosion Certification (or equivalent), Charlotte-Mecklenburg certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days (training available through HB NEXT)
• Prior construction or field inspection experience highly preferred
• Reliable personal transportation
• Strong communication skills and a self-starter mindset

Benefits:

• Salary: $35,000 – $42,000 (commensurate with experience)
