Job summary

Environmental Resources Management, Inc. (ERM) seeks a Consulting Associate, Environmental Construction (DDD) to lead remediation, demolition, decommissioning, and construction projects across the U.S.

You’ll drive on-site execution, coordinate contractors, and manage safety and quality on complex environmental work. You’ll bring a 1–3 year track record in environmental engineering or construction management, a bachelor’s in a related field, OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, and strong client-facing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in environmental engineering or construction management consulting.
• Experience on construction or remediation sites (DDD experience preferred).
• Ability to prepare and implement work plans, support field programs, and contribute to report writing.
• Strong commitment to safety; OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER required.
• Ability to estimate, track, and manage project costs and documentation; familiarity with cost estimating tools.
• Strong communication, organizational, and client-service skills.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and supporting field execution.
• Ability to coordinate site personnel, contractors, and vendors.
• Willingness to travel across the U.S., as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute remediation, DDD, asbestos, and construction projects, including design reviews, cost opinions, work progress tracking, and schedule management.
• Lead on-site activities such as pre-construction meetings, field supervision, subcontractor coordination, and progress reporting.
• Review contractor submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Provide construction management and quality assurance on environmental and earthworks projects.
• Serve as Field Safety Officer for investigation, remediation, and DDD projects: develop and implement Health & Safety Plans, conduct daily safety briefings, maintain records.
• Identify and resolve issues during inspections or contract administration.
• Evaluate and manage subcontractor performance; negotiate change orders as needed.
• Serve as primary liaison between field teams and Project Manager to ensure alignment with plans and client expectations.
• Support business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals and contracting.
