Job summary

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority seeks a qualified inspector to conduct inspections of industrial dischargers and to draft reports under TRAC regulations. You will evaluate permit applications and drafts, coordinating with enforcement staff to ensure timely permit issuance.

The role requires a four-year science or engineering degree (or 4 years of related experience) and a valid MA Driver's License, with potential telework up to 50% after an initial waiting period.

Qualifications

  • A four-year undergrad degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science or related engineering field, or 4 years of related experience.
  • At least three (3) years experience in sanitary engineering and sampling practices.
  • Valid Massachusetts Class D Driver's License.
  • Position may be eligible for telework up to 50% after an initial waiting period.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts inspections of industry and other sewer dischargers and drafts resulting reports.
  • Evaluates the adequacy of permit applications and notices of intent to discharge.
  • Writes permits for issuance to sewer dischargers and others under MWRA regulations.
  • Tracks permits and coordinates with enforcement staff to ensure timely approvals.
