Job summary

RigUp, Inc., based in Houston, seeks an Environmental Specialist to support environmental compliance for produced water midstream and SWD operations. You will liaison with regulators and manage filings, reporting, and records.

The role requires 5+ years in oil and gas environmental compliance, SPCC familiarity, and strong organizational skills; travel may be required, and a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 5 years of oil and gas environmental compliance experience.
• Experience preparing, filing and maintaining regulatory documentation with agencies like NMOCD, NMSLO, BLM, EPA, RRC, TCEQ.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental compliance activities within assigned operational areas.
• Serve as liaison between operations, regulators, consultants, and management.
• Maintain environmental records, logs, monitoring docs, and project files.
• Manage regulatory filings including SPCC, Tier II, and permit-related submissions.
• Coordinate spill response tracking from notification through closure.
