Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to support civil and environmental design across a broad range of projects in the Mid-Atlantic Region. You will assist in site civil design, hydraulic analyses, stormwater, regulatory compliance, and construction documentation.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, coordinate multidisciplinary efforts, and contribute to design packages, cost estimates, and QA/QC workflows to deliver high-quality projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field; ABET accreditation preferred.
• Internship or related consulting experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist teams to deliver high-quality civil/environmental designs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary projects with varying complexity.
• Prepare design documentation, criteria, memos, reports, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Support client communications, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
• Contribute to QA/QC procedures and internal training.
• Engage in client relations and project meetings.
