Job summary

Seres Engineering & Services Llc is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Chemist/Scientist to join our team in Massachusetts. In this full-time role, you will support our environmental investigation and remediation projects while working both independently and as part of a team. The position allows for remote office work but requires daily travel to job sites in Middlesex County for fieldwork.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and 2-5 years of relevant experience, along with strong analytical skills. Benefits include 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ relevant experience in environmental science.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass a background check to access military bases.
• PFAS experience a plus.
• US Department of Defense experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of UFP-QAPPs and other technical reports.
• Assist in the preparation of laboratory and data validation scopes of work and bid sheets.
• Evaluate and interpret laboratory data, regulations, and other relevant information.
• Coordinate with laboratory and field teams for bottle ware orders and resolve issues during field investigations.
• Respond to laboratory inquiries during sample analysis.
• Track field samples and manage laboratory and data validation processes for field investigations.
• Set up and manage FUDSchem or similar event management systems.
• Support environmental fieldwork, including groundwater and soil sampling.

Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and coordination abilities

Proficiency in data evaluation and interpretation

Familiarity with environmental regulations and laboratory procedures

Experience in field sampling techniques and data management

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Education

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
