Job description

McGinnis Lochridge is seeking an environmental attorney to join our Environmental and Water practice in Austin and help build on the practice's growth. The attorney will handle a broad range of environmental permitting, compliance, and enforcement matters before the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and other agencies. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking substantive, hands‑on experience and direct client contact, with in-person mentorship and increasing responsibility across a diverse range of matters.

We will consider candidates at a range of experience levels, from an experienced associate looking to support and grow within an established practice to a mid‑level or of counsel attorney with the capacity to support existing matters while building their own book of business (portable business is preferred but not required). Candidates must have environmental or administrative regulatory experience. Matters may include TCEQ air, water, and waste permitting and contested case hearings, regulatory compliance counseling, enforcement, water rights and water utility matters, environmental due diligence, and remediation, for developer and industrial clients.

The ideal candidate will have a record of outstanding academic achievement, excellent analytical and writing skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
