Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff on a variety of environmental projects.
• Attend project meetings with senior staff and participate in discussions.
• Interface with contractors, clients, and site personnel during field activities.
• Communicate daily with project teams and inform supervisors of site conditions.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and oversight of environmental technicians.
• Support project setup and implementation under supervision.
• Collect, document, and report field observations accurately.
• Assist with sampling, data collection, and analysis.
• Support preparation of reports and project documentation.
• Participate in project coordination, tracking tasks and deliverables.
• Assist with proposal preparation and project planning.
• Perform additional technical and project support duties as assigned.
• Assist with groundwater, soil, and media sampling investigations.
• Support boring layouts and site access evaluations.
• Assist with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Support underground storage tank assessments.
• Document site conditions and communicate findings to supervisors.

Job description

The Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager I supports environmental consulting projects through fieldwork, data collection, analysis, and project coordination activities. This role provides foundational experience in environmental consulting services, including due diligence, assessment, remediation, and compliance. The Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager I develops technical competency, project understanding, and early project management skills under supervision while demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Interacts and collaborates with staff members on a variety of environmental projects
• Attends project meetings with senior staff and participates in project discussions
• Interfaces with contractors, clients, and site personnel during field activities
• Communicates daily with project teams and keeps supervisors informed of site conditions and project needs
• Implements field tasks and project activities as directed by senior staff
• Assists with scheduling, training, and oversight of environmental technicians
• Supports project setup and implementation under supervision

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting
• 0 years of related experience
• If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
• Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
• Basic knowledge of environmental permitting processes, regulations, and test methods
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop professionally
• Basic decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying site conditions
• Ability to lift and carry field equipment (~40 lbs)

The expected pay range for this role and location is $20-$25/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
