GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is seeking a mid-level Environmental Assistant Project Manager to join our Hooksett, New Hampshire office.

You will work with professionals in environmental site investigation and remediation and build lasting client relationships. You will assist with completing and managing environmental investigations and remediation projects to ensure they are safely completed on time and within scope and budget, while being mentored by seasoned professionals and supported by

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or related Environmental Science discipline (Master’s Degree is advantageous).
• Four years or more of experience at consulting engineering firms.
• Professional Licensure or Registration is advantageous.
• Experience executing environmental site investigations and remediation projects.
• Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher status.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Project Managers and Principals to plan, organize, and conduct environmental site investigations and remediation projects.
• Lead and document field investigations and environmental remedial actions.
• Conduct and review technical analyses/calculations.
• Perform and review environmental site assessments.
• Develop health and safety plans and manage implementation and compliance with GZA Health and Safety programs.

Job description

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is seeking a mid‑level Environmental Assistant Project Manager to join our Hooksett, New Hampshire office. At GZA, you’ll work side‑by‑side with professionals experienced in environmental site investigation and remediation and will build lasting client relationships. You’ll take on task and project level responsibilities, have direct access to senior leadership, and be supported with mentoring, professional development, and a clear path for advancement.

The ideal candidate for this position will have four to eight years of experience as an environmental professional with strong technical skills, regulatory knowledge, and a desire to foster strong professional relationships with colleagues, clients, and regulators. We expect qualified individuals to have experience in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or related Environmental Science, and be capable of planning, coordinating, and performing projects in compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

As an Environmental Assistant Project Manager, you will assist with completing and managing environmental investigations and remediation projects to ensure they are safely completed on time and within scope and budget. What you will do:

• Collaborate with Senior Project Managers and Principals to plan, organize, and conduct environmental site investigations and remediation projects.
• Lead and document field investigations and environmental remedial actions.
• Conduct and review technical analyses/calculations.
• Perform and review environmental site assessments.
• Develop health and safety plans and manage implementation and compliance with GZA Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures during on‑site activities.
• Monitor subcontractor performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets.
• Prepare environmental reports and work plans with Project Manager and Principal guidance and review.
• Provide business development support and assist in proposal preparation.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with clients and team members.
• Mentor junior staff, sharing your knowledge while growing your leadership skills and the strength of the GZA team.

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geology, or related Environmental Science discipline (Master’s Degree is advantageous).
• Professional Licensure or Registration is advantageous.

• Experience executing a range of environmental site investigation and site remediation projects.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage both field and office responsibilities with independence and attention to detail.
• Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge.
• Completed 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and current 8‑hour refresher status.
• Ability to work independently and as part of team in the field to complete environmental site investigation and remedial construction and monitoring tasks.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday and some evenings and weekends.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally.
