Job summary

Riverside Health is seeking an Environmental Aide for Mathews, Virginia. The part-time role focuses on housekeeping and sanitation to meet state and RHS infection control standards. You will help maintain a neat, safe environment and support team members with supplies and equipment handling.

Typical responsibilities include cleaning various areas, restocking supplies, and addressing resident requests promptly. Prior healthcare housekeeping experience and a valid AED certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required (Preferred).
• 1 year prior housekeeping/environmental services experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred).
• Certified AED (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Cleans all assigned areas (resident areas, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, elevators, nurses’ stations, labs, lounges, locker rooms) using cleaning methods like sweeping, washing, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing.
• Uses appropriate cleaners and safely labels/stores chemicals.
• Restocks supplies and cleans carts to maintain smooth operations.
• Responds to resident requests promptly; reports concerns to Maintenance, Nursing, Dietary, or front desk for quick resolution.
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals and RHS infection control standards in all tasks.
• Maintains cleaning schedules and ensures areas meet quality and infection-control measures.

Ensures a neat, clean and safe work environment is maintained. Ensures adequate supplies for cleaning and assists team members with moving equipment, cleaning and beds. **What you will do** * Cleans all assigned areas, including but not limited to resident areas, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, elevators and ancillary areas such as nurses’ stations, laboratories, lounges, locker rooms, etc. by means not limited to sweeping, washing, mopping, dusting, disinfecting and sanitizing.* Uses the correct cleaners for the intended task and labels/stores chemicals safely and properly.* Restocks supplies and cleans carts daily in order to maintain a smooth flow of operations. Areas of responsibility are stocked with paper goods, soaps, chemicals and reusable goods as applicable. Demonstrates the ability to terminally clean and keep the assigned area clean in accordance with RHS policies.* Responds to requests from customers in a positive and timely manner, measured by numbers of complaints and/or compliments registered from residents and an increase in resident satisfaction scores. Conveys residents’ concerns to the appropriate departments (e.g. Maintenance, Nursing, Dietary etc. ), or the front desk to bring about a successful resolution of the concern in the quickest, safest manner.* Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and in accordance with RHS policies and procedures. Performs all cleaning duties in a timely, safe, and thorough manner in compliance with Infection Control Standards. This includes dusting, cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, and other services as needed. Areas are cleaned according to schedule and in accordance with departmental policies.* Ensures assignments completed in a timely manner ensuring quality/infection control measures are met consistently.
