Job summary

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children in New York is seeking an Environmental Aide (Housekeeper) to provide environmental services across the facility, including cleaning, laundry, window washing and waste disposal, to maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment of care.

• Minimum of six months of experience in housecleaning or closely related area with demonstrated skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs laundry and other environmental services such as vacuuming, cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, scrubbing, sweeping, glass cleaning, collecting and depositing waste, etc. according to established time frames, as required.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies such as towels, soap and toilet tissue and paper towel dispensers.
• Weighs and records laundry and other information as required to maintain Department statistics.
• Recognizes and reports changes in the residents' behavior promptly to the Supervisor.
• Uses cleaning equipment and chemical agents and supplies responsibly according to facility policy.
• Records time worked promptly and accurately according to facility policy.
