Job summary

Hatch is seeking an Environment, People, and Place Intern to support the Business Practices group from our Brooklyn, NY office. The role focuses on environmental intelligence, urban planning concepts, and socio-economic analyses while collaborating with global peers.

You will assist with data collection, modeling, and reporting to inform urban development and policy decisions, with mentorship from industry experts and a strong emphasis on practical, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Urban Planning/Studies, Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science/Studies, or Environmental Planning.
• Demonstrated knowledge of urban planning, real estate, economics, land use and/or environmental policy, environmental science/engineering, and/or related fields.
• Ability to conduct quantitative modeling and prepare submissions/reports to support projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses including economic and fiscal impact studies, benefit-cost analyses, and climate-related assessments.
• Perform feasibility analyses and market studies for urban development or redevelopment.
• Research case studies on urbanization, transportation, energy, and economic development.
• Support environmental design studies and analyses of air, noise, soil, water, and waste management.
• Prepare technical reports with calculations and modeling of environmental impacts.
