PIRG is seeking a Climate Solutions Associate to work onsite in Chicago, IL. This full‑time role focuses on building support across diverse groups, organizing events, and engaging media and policymakers for campaign objectives.

Responsibilities

• Reach out to a broad range of organizations and affected constituency groups across the political spectrum to demonstrate support for our campaign goals.
• Build broad public support for the campaign by recruiting organizations and members of the public to be involved. Organize webinars, community events, and public meetings to educate, persuade, and motivate.
• Earn traditional media and social media attention by organizing media events, writing opinion pieces, and building a following on social media.
• Lobby elected officials by coordinating strategy with champions in Congress or state houses, making a compelling case to undecided legislators, and demonstrating ground‑level support to secure key votes.
• Recruit new people to the team by bringing on volunteers, interns, and full‑time staff.
• Run a grassroots campaign office each summer, knocking on doors to raise money, building organization and membership, and managing a team of paid staff to meet fundraising goals. Remain flexible to relocate to different office locations as needed.

The target annual compensation is $38,250 - $39,500.
