Job summary

Kenmore Envelope Company, Inc is seeking a dedicated envelope folding machine operator to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on producing envelopes that meet quality standards while maintaining optimal speeds and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities include quality checks, machine setup changes between jobs, routine maintenance, and communication across shifts. The candidate should be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Check work of previous shift for quality and correctness.
• Follow quality control procedures to maintain standards.
• Change machines between sizes, styles, windows, gum, and printing.
• Keep machines running at optimum speed to meet targets.
• Identify machine malfunctions and troubleshoot promptly.
• Notify supervisor when maintenance is needed beyond the adjuster.
• Work as a team with other adjusters and operators.
• Assist other envelope machine operators as needed.
• Keep folding machine area neat and clean.
• Fill out production paperwork and pull samples as directed.
• Communicate equipment and job status between shifts.
• Perform routine maintenance and general repairs as directed.
• Stand for long periods; perform repetitive motions; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Duties include overtime possibilities as required.
• Execute responsibilities while following safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Keep machines running at optimum speed to meet production targets while preserving quality.
• Identify machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and correct promptly.
• Notify supervisor when maintenance/repairs are needed beyond the adjuster.
• Work as a team with other adjusters and operators to meet shift goals.
• Assist Envelope Machine Operators with duties when necessary.
• Keep envelope folding machine area neat and clean.
• Fill out production paperwork and pull samples as directed.
• Communicate with outgoing/incoming shifts regarding equipment and status.
• Perform routine maintenance and general repairs as directed by supervisor.
• Stand for long periods; perform repetitive motions; lift up to 75 pounds; possible overtime.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures.

Job Purpose: To produce envelopes on folding machines that meet company quality standards while maintaining optimum speeds and minimal downtime

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. 1. Check work of previous shift for quality & correctness and notify supervisor of any issues
2. 2. Check the quality of the finished envelopes throughout the job by following company quality control procedures and correct issues as necessary to maintain and/or achieve the quality standards
3. 3. Change machines between sizes, styles, windows, gum, and printing from one job to the next with minimal downtime
4. 4. Keep machines running at optimum speed to meet or exceed production targets while maintaining quality standards
5. 5. Identify machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and correct in a timely manner
6. 6. Notify a supervisor promptly when machines need maintenance/repairs above what can be completed by the adjuster
7. 7. Work as a team with other adjusters and operators to accomplish shift goals
8. 8. Assist Envelope Machine Operators with their duties when necessary and/or when available
9. 9. Keep envelope folding machine and area around machine neat & clean
10. 10. Fill out production paperwork and pull samples as directed
11. 11. Communicate with outgoing shift and incoming shift regarding equipment status, job status, and any other relevant information
12. 12. Perform routine maintenance and general repairs on envelope folding machines as directed by supervisor
13. 13. Duties include standing for most of the shift, repetitive hand & wrist motions, reaching with hands and arms, regular lifting of up to 75 pounds, and possibly working overtime
14. 14. Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time
15. 15. Execute the responsibilities of this position following company safety policies and company procedures
