Job summary

Del Amo Behavioral Health System in Torrance, CA is seeking a versatile support role delivering transportation, environmental services, security and maintenance for the facility. You will help keep areas clean, safe, and orderly, patrol grounds, and respond to security needs while supporting front desk during visiting hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred; On-The-Job Training provided.
• Completion of Security Training program or equivalent preferred.
• Valid California Driver's License Class C required to drive hospital vehicles.
• Two years in a hospital environment preferred.
• Experience in environmental services in hospital/hotel industry preferred.
• Must complete all required mandatory inservices annually; TB screening on hire and ongoing as mandated.

Responsibilities

This position provides a variety of support services in the areas of transportation, environmental services, security, and maintenance for Del Amo Behavioral Health Systems. It performs a variety of duties in and around the facility, including maintaining orderly and sanitary conditions; cleaning and servicing the facility and ground areas; protecting life and property; patrolling building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, and vandalism; securing, unlocking, and protecting the building; responding to security needs of facility personnel and guests; and assisting the front lobby reception during visiting hours to ensure that contraband is checked.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred; On-The-Job Training provided

Credential

• Valid California Driver's License Class C in order to drive hospital/facility vehicles or on hospital business.

Experience

• Experience working in behavioral health preferred.
• Previous experience in environmental services (hospital/hotel industry) preferred.
• Two (2) years in a hospital environment preferred.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to demonstrate special training, knowledge and skills specific to job (i.e. van/driver’s training, etc.) and/or program specific competency within the first three (3) months of training, and annually thereafter.
• Must complete all required mandatory inservices annually.
• Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire; PPD skin test required annually or chest x-ray tri-annually thereafter.
• Must be certified in Handle With Care training within the first three (3) months of hire and annually thereafter if assigned to Security or Transportation duties.
