Skywood Recovery Center, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, sanitary environment for residents and staff at the Augusta, MI location.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and about 1 year of housekeeping experience. You will perform laundry duties, operate cleaning equipment, and ensure safety in all cleaning activities.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning facilities as assigned to provide clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly and satisfying surroundings for the residents, employees, and the public.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for laundry duties.
• Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, washer/dryer, etc.
• Maintains facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing, cleaning and replacing of equipment and furnishings.
• Responsible for daily disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
• Must handle various cleaning solvents and chemicals in accordance with established safety regulations.
• Damp dusts furniture, light fixtures, window sills, etc.
• Sweeps and wet mops floors in all resident rooms and bathrooms daily. Damp mops all corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and others daily.
• Cleans wash basins, mirrors, commodes, tubs, and showers daily.
• Checks all vacant rooms daily to keep fresh.
• Reports any needed repairs or equipment malfunction to supervisor immediately (such as leaky faucets or toilets, loose tile, broken window panes, missing nuts or screws, beds needing repair, etc.).
• Cleans all air vents.
• Checks entire area for spills, water, etc. periodically, especially in residents' bathrooms.
• Uses safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
