Job summary

Primrose School of South Elgin is seeking a part-time support teacher to join our caring team. The role runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM–5:30 PM or 12:30 PM–5:30 PM, with no nights, weekends, or holidays.

You’ll help create a safe, engaging learning environment and support children through purposeful play, building social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while following the Balanced Learning curriculum.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma.
• College students in Early Childhood program encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Support a fun, safe environment for little ones as they explore and learn through purposeful play that nurtures social, emotional, cognitive, creative and physical development.
• Spend your days building genuine relationships with each child.
• Help children explore the world, improve their motor skills and grow their vocabulary.
• Work with your co-teacher to implement the Balanced Learning curriculum from the research-informed program.
• Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
• Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.
