Job Opening: Digital Broadcast Producer

The Conversation with Al McFarlane, a division of McFarlane Media Interests, Inc., is seeking an experienced and dynamic digital broadcast producer to lead a daily live-stream broadcast. This contractor position offers potential for growth.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent news judgment, creative writing skills, and a strong understanding of Live Streaming platforms. While we currently use StreamYard, we are open to other media platforms with expanded capabilities.

We prefer someone connected to the news cycle, covering local and national topics, pop culture, and interests beyond politics. This role can be performed remotely.

Weekly Commitment: 15-20 hours per week, with availability Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 2:30 PM CST for the live show.

Job Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the team to develop content and plan daily live stream broadcasts.
2. Maintain and update the Show Calendar with guest details, story selections, media links, and segment timings.
3. Create daily show thumbnails and social media posts using templates in Canva.
4. Schedule and manage daily live streams via StreamYard.
5. Handle last-minute changes to broadcasts, including guests and media content.
6. Produce and run daily live streams from 1-2 CST.
7. Coordinate with local radio stations for Tuesday simulcasts.
8. Complete post-show documentation, including episode details and links.
9. Upload programs and transcribe daily broadcasts.
10. Lead post-show meetings to review and plan upcoming shows.
11. Follow oral and written instructions clearly and accurately in English.
12. Think critically and articulate information concisely.
13. Manage social media by posting show clips and promos.
14. Maintain a professional appearance and quality of the live stream broadcast.
15. Familiarity with Canva, StreamYard, Google Docs, Box, and video editing software.
