Job summary

RealCraft in Gig Harbor is seeking a hands-on shop helper who will rough cut, mill to size, and prep lumber for doors. You'll work on legs, rails, panels, and jambs, learning the shop rhythm from the ground up.

This full-time on-site role offers $20–$23/hour, medical/dental/vision, a 3% Simple IRA after six months, PTO from day one, and a boot allowance for Narrows commuters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Physically able to stand, lift up to 75 lbs, and move material all shift.
• Willingness to learn and take direction in a hands-on shop environment.
• Experience with table saw or similar woodworking tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cut lumber for legs, rails, panels, jambs, and headers.
• Rough cut material and mill down to finished dimensions.
• Laminate for thickness and build barn doors, including glue-ups.
• Unload trucks, organize lumber, manage bins and trash, and change saw blades.
• Learn RealCraft procedures and adapt quickly to leadership needs.

About the Position

At RealCraft, we build solid wood doors by hand, and every door starts at the front of the shop. This role is where raw lumber becomes the legs, rails, panels, and jambs that our craftsmen turn into finished doors. You'll rough cut, mill down to size, and feed material toward the gluing station, learning the shop's rhythm from the ground up. If you're physically capable, willing to learn, and want real woodworking skills instead of just a paycheck, this is where you start.

Who We Are

RealCraft is a direct-to-consumer maker of premium solid wood doors and hardware in Gig Harbor, Washington. Every door is handcrafted on-site using traditional joinery and solid wood, for architects, designers, and homeowners across the US.

What You'll Do

• Cut lumber for legs, rails, panels, window sticking, posts, jambs, and headers.
• Rough cut material and mill down step by step to finished dimension.
• Laminate for thickness and build barn doors, including glue-ups.
• Unload trucks, organize lumber, take out bins and trash, and change saw blades.
• Learn RealCraft's procedures and pivot quickly when leadership needs you elsewhere.

What We're Looking For

• Good attitude, willing to learn, and comfortable taking direction.
• Physically capable of standing, lifting, and moving material all shift.
• A plus: some experience with a table saw, chop saw, or tabletop planer.
• High school diploma or GED.
