Job summary

TTL is seeking entry-level Welding Inspectors and NDT Technicians for Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Alabama. You will perform construction inspections, nondestructive testing, and data collection to ensure compliance with codes and project specs. Training and certification courses are paid for by TTL.

Welding experience or schooling is a plus but not required; strong communication skills and a valid driver's license are essential. This role offers growth within the company across Alabama.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred in welding, construction, physical sciences or math.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional interaction with clients and team members.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions; basic computer skills.
• Ability to safely operate aerial lifts and work at heights as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs visual testing (VT) of structural welds to verify compliance with codes and project specs.
• Conducts nondestructive testing (NDT) including UT, MT, PT.
• Performs coating inspections and testing per industry standards.
• Inspects structural steel and bolted connections for compliance.
• Prepares daily inspection reports and client documentation; operates with moderate supervision.
• Maintains professional relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
