Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, seeks an experienced welder/fabricator for Avon Manufacturing to work on steel mold fabrication from blueprints. You will join a team or work independently to produce molds from start to finish.

The role requires 1–3 years of welding experience, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to handle tools and heavy lifting while upholding safety standards in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years welding/fabricating experience or completion of a welding trade program.
• Ability to read shop blueprints and interpret measurements.
• Experience with hand and power tools; strong math and measurement skills.
• Must be punctual, reliable and able to stand/sit/kneel/crouch as needed.
• Lift up to 40 lbs and operate equipment safely per policy.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble steel molds and components per blueprints.
• Maintain safety culture and follow CRH/Oldcastle policies.
• Fit, set and install fabricated structures in a shop environment.
• Operate plasma cutters, oxy-fuel torch, grinders, and drills.
• Use overhead crane with proper rigging for heavy pieces.
• Keep work areas clean and organized; follow housekeeping rules.

Job Summary

Avon Manufacturing is a custom manufacturer of steel molds for the precast concrete industry. Each mold is made to order based on custom designs. We are looking for an experienced welder/fabricator to work with a team or independently on manufacturing molds from blueprints from start to finish.

Job Responsibilities

• Embody a strong safety culture by displaying and enforcing CRH/Oldcastle safety policies and procedures
• Steel fabrication of heavy gauge materials and components under the supervision of Lead Welder and Foreman
• Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures
• Maintain shop housekeeping procedures to ensure safe and well-organized work areas
• Overhead crane use, to include safety and proper rigging is necessary
• Operating a variety of metalworking equipment (plasma cutters, oxyfuel torch, grinders, welders, drills, punches)

Job Requirements

• At least 1-3 years of welding/fabricating experience or successful completion of a welding trade school program
• Capable of reading shop blueprints
• Hand and power tool experience
• Ability to read tape measure and perform shop math in order to calculate/copy measurements and angles
• Punctuality and reliability
• The ability to stand/sit/kneel/crouch
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
