Paycom - ATS is seeking an Entry-Level Welder to join our fabrication team in Watertown, SD. You will receive comprehensive training to become proficient in welding, assembly, and quality inspection of metal components for utility bodies.

No prior welding experience is required, just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• No prior welding experience required; comprehensive training will be provided.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Able to read measurements and follow blueprints/drawings.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and safety minded.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic processes in multiple positions.
• Inspect welds and test to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and help other welders as needed.

As an Entry-Level Welder, you will play a crucial role in assisting our experienced welders, inspecting welds, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.Hours Available:1st Shift: 6am - 4:30pm2nd Shift: 4:25pm - 2:55am (earn additional $2/hour)Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain all company Quality requirements and follow company guidelines utilizing a “Stop and Fix” mindset.Maintain a clean environment and follow company 5S + Safety Standards.Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and proceduresDetermine the appropriate welding equipment, settings, and methods based on requirementsSet up components for welding according to specificationsOperate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be weldedAlign components using fixtures, tape measure, levels, speed square, etc. and clamp piecesWeld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)Prepare utility bodies and other components by welding pieces and filling gapsTest and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flawsMaintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safetyAssist other welders in the completing of work to ensure work is completed as efficiently as possibleMaintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Fast-paced environmentAbility to lift 50 lbs. and work awkwardly while bending, stooping, kneeling, or standing to work overhead for 10 hrs.Requirements:No prior welding experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided.Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and working in awkward positions.If you are ready to kick-start your career in welding and contribute to a dynamic team, apply now!
