Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Auburn, AL team. You will support water conveyance and treatment projects from planning through construction, with mentorship from experienced engineers to help you grow.

You’ll collaborate with Project Management and Design Leads, perform hydraulic modeling, assist in plans and specifications, and analyze data to support design and construction activities. Occasional travel to Montgomery may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and pdf editors.
• Relevant water/ wastewater coursework or projects.

This position is based primarily in Auburn, AL, in support of ongoing projects in the area. Occasional travel to the Montgomery, AL office may be required, typically 1-2 days per week, based on business and project needs.

In this role, you will work alongside Project Management and Design Leads in the planning, designing, and commissioning of projects from design through construction for water treatment, collection and distribution projects.

Working within a multi-disciplinary team you will be challenged to grow and learn in your everyday tasks which could consist of

• hydraulic modeling
• assisting in the preparation of plans and specifications
• performing research, technical writing, development of documentation and studies
• data collection, processing, and analysis to support planning and design activities
• supporting construction activities related to your designs to ensure proper construction
• providing on-site troubleshooting based on field conditions to including construction observation, startup and testing, and project closeout activities

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and pdf editors
• Relevant water/ wastewater coursework or projects

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
• Prior work or internship experience with an engineering consultancy or municipality
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain in the first year
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

The base salary range for this position is $60,900.00 to $85,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
