Job summary

AECOM is hiring an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in our North Charleston, SC office, starting immediately. Responsibilities include pump station design, water and sewer system evaluation, plans and permitting support, and field observations.

Requires a Civil Engineering degree from ABET-accredited program, proficiency in MS Office, basic AutoCAD, and ability to work in varied conditions with a valid US driver's license. Travel is frequent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and must pass MVR review.
  • Able to work collaboratively in teams and independently.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) (preferred).
  • Minimum 6 months technical work experience in civil engineering or related field (internships, Co-Op).

  • Perform civil engineering modeling, design, and drafting work for engineers and project managers.
  • Assist with preparing/reviewing cost estimates, job budgets and schedules.
  • Support preparation of final plans, reports, and calculations.
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and multi-discipline professionals.
  • Document project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files.
  • Troubleshoots project related problems and provides engineering support.
  • Assist with resolution of construction issues and conducting site observations.

Job Description

AECOM is hiring for an Entry-Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in our North Charleston, SC office.

This position is expected to start immediately.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Pump station evaluation and design.
  • Water distribution system hydraulic modeling, analysis, and design.
  • Sewer collection system evaluation and design
  • Assist with plans, specifications, and permitting
  • Perform civil engineering modeling, design, and drafting work for engineers and project managers
  • Assist with preparing/reviewing cost estimates, job budgets and schedules
  • Support preparation of final plans, reports, and calculations
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and multi-discipline professionals
  • Document project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files
  • Troubleshoots project related problems and provides engineering support
  • Assist with resolution of construction issues and conducting site observations
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite – specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD)
  • Must be able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineer-in-Training(EIT)or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
  • Minimum 6 months technical work experience in civil engineering or related field (e.g. summer internships, Co-Op)
Additional Information
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Frequent travel is a requirement of this role.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $65000 to $80000.
