Job summary

Dewberry's Baltimore, MD office seeks an Entry Level Water Resources Engineer to perform a technical role under the direction of a project engineer/manager for a wide range of design services. You will contribute to concept and final designs for drainage, stormwater management and erosion & sediment control, and assist with cost estimation and reports.

Responsibilities include analyzing hydrologic and hydraulic models, preparing technical documents, watershed master planning, stream restoration

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental/Agriculture Engineering with a focus in Water Resources or related field is required.
  • Knowledge of floodplain delineation, storm water management, culvert and bridge hydraulics, and drainage design.
  • 0 - 3 years of experience; previous internship(s) preferred.
  • Working knowledge in CAD platforms such as Microstation.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic programs such as TR-20, TR-55, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ABSCOUR and HY-8 and GIS software is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Participate in field work as needed.
  • Engineer-In-Training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform concept and final designs for drainage, stormwater management and erosion & sediment control.
  • Assist in cost estimation and analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models.
  • Prepare technical reports, watershed master planning, and water quality studies.
  • Support stream restoration and transportation/environmental projects.
  • Work as part of a team to deliver innovative and complex design solutions.
