Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Water Resources Dam Safety Engineer in Conshohocken, PA. The hybrid position supports the East Region Dams Team across various dam safety projects, with opportunities for career growth and professional licensure.

You will assist with hydrologic analyses, design tasks, site visits, and regulatory compliance while developing technical reports and drawings. U.S. Citizenship is required, FE exam targeted within 6 months.

  • FE exam, or ability to complete within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong interest in dam safety and hydraulic structures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for dam projects including design, analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, and develop maintenance and emergency action plans.
  • Prepare drawings and figures using AutoCAD Civil3D and GIS.
  • Write technical reports and conduct field inspections.
  • Progress toward task and project management responsibilities.

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Entry-Level Water Resources Dam Safety Engineer to join the East Region Dams Team. This position will support a variety Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join theENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firmand have access to exciting career advancement opportunities. This position will report to the AECOM offices in the East Region including Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide technical support to dam project managers, including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams. Includes:
  • Providing support for projects including design, analysis, inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of dams.
  • Performing dam analysis and design such as hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, inspection and maintenance plans, emergency action plans, dam breach analyses, and alternative analyses.
  • Preparing drawings and figures using AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, and other software for dam projects.
  • Preparing and writing technical reports for dam projects.
  • Conducting field observations and site visits for dam safety inspections and dam construction oversight.
  • Progression toward greater responsibility, including task and project management and certification as a professional engineer.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Water Resources Engineering.
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam or ability to complete within 6 months of initial hire.
  • Ability and desire to occasionally travel to project sites, both local and remote. Valid U.S. Driver’s License and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Interest in dams and other hydraulic structures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in relevant water resources engineering software programs such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
