Job summary

Golden State Water Company in Morongo Valley, CA is seeking a Temporary Water Distribution Operator I to join our field team. This entry-level role provides on-the-job training, with supervision as you learn to operate and maintain the water distribution system.

You’ll perform meter reads, assist with valve exercising, hydrant maintenance, and customer interactions while meeting safety standards; emergency response readiness is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Learns to perform tasks related to maintenance and operation of the water distribution system.
• Learns proper use of tools and equipment needed for the job.
• Under supervision, assists in installation, repairs and replacement of mains, services, valves, hydrants and meters.
• Performs meter reads, ons/offs and field investigations.
• Interacts with customers and represents the Company in the field.
• Participates in routine maintenance activities such as flushing, valve exercising and hydrant maintenance.
• Follows safety policies and can respond to emergencies as needed.
