Job summary

Stake Center Locating is hiring entry level Locate Technicians to identify underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark locations with paint and flags. You’ll learn on the job with 100% paid training and must enjoy outdoor work, independence, and quick problem solving.

Starting pay is $23.50 per hour, with a path to growth as you gain field experience. Full-time roles include vehicle use, training, and benefits as you contribute to damage prevention in your community.

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week.
• Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods; lifting up to 25 lbs or more with aids.
• Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Think Safety First!
• Use a laptop to receive, document and process tickets and email.
• Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine best locating method and sequence.
• Use provided locate equipment to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners.
