Job summary

NEUCO is seeking a Utility Construction Laborer in Lawrence, MA to support underground utility and natural gas distribution projects. You will join a crew with foremen, operators, and fitters, learning the trade while using basic tools and equipment.

The role emphasizes safety, hands-on training, and steady work outdoors. You’ll perform digging, trenching, load materials, and maintain sites, with opportunities to grow into more skilled positions through paid training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Desire to learn a new trade.

Responsibilities

• Use hand tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damage
• Load and unload equipment and materials
• Keep worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment
• Maintain all industry‑required operator qualifications
• Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
