ENTRY LEVEL TRAINEE – MACHINIST OR ASSEMBLER

National Machinery LLC is seeking motivated individuals to join our Development Trainee Program. This entry‑level opportunity offers hands‑on training and mentorship while preparing employees for a career either as a Machinist or Assembler. Candidates who apply to this post will be considered for either career path based on their skills, interests, experience, and business needs. Working closely with experienced trainers, technicians, assemblers, machinists, and leaders, trainees will develop technical skills, gain shop experience, and successfully complete required training assessments.

Career Paths:

Machinist Track

Trainees will rotate through machining departments and classroom instruction to learn the operation and setup of CNC and manual machines used to produce precision components. Responsibilities include:

• Learning to machine parts to specifications using drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Assisting with machine setups and machining operations involving milling, grinding, turning, boring, and similar equipment.
• Performing quality checks to ensure parts meet company specifications.
• Developing machining knowledge and technical skills in preparation for a Machinist position.

Assembler Track

Trainees will work alongside experienced assemblers to learn the process of building machine components and assemblies. Responsibilities include:

• Learning to read drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Assembling components into finished products using hand tools and powered equipment.
• Inspecting work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Developing skills in assembly methods, tooling, and quality control in preparation for a Assembler position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Good mechanical and mathematical skills.
• Must be detail oriented and able to actively participate and work in a team environment.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Vocational/technical education preferred.
• Familiarity with computers.
• Familiarity with hand tools, measurement tools, and powered equipment
• Awareness of shop safety practices and proper use of PPE
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Shop environment.
• Safety toe shoes and safety glasses required.
• Must be able to regularly lift loads of up to 50 pounds.
• Work can be strenuous, and includes walking, climbing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, and pulling (such as on torque wrenches) as well as standing for long periods of time.
