Job summary

GBA is hiring an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer in Chesterfield, MO to support a broad range of transportation projects, including signing, lighting, signal design, and traffic impact studies. You will assist in layout, sequencing, and TMP development while learning modern tools and approaches with mentorship.

You will gain experience with data analysis, modeling, and collaboration with municipal, county, and DOT clients on innovative topics like smart work zones and Vision Zero initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• At least 2 years of experience in project design, plan development, and traffic analysis.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the layout and design of traffic signals, roadway lighting, pavement markings, and signing.
• Develop traffic sequencing and traffic control plans.
• Contribute to Transportation Management Plans (TMPs).
• Analyze traffic operations to determine levels of service.
• Review crash data to identify correctable patterns.
• Perform traffic volume analysis and forecasting.
• Prepare Traffic Impact Study (TIS) and Traffic Design Study documents.
• Conduct warrant studies for traffic control devices.
• Use traffic simulation modeling tools to generate operational data and graphics.
• Conduct inventories and evaluations of traffic controls and infrastructure.
